Areva Martin.Esq.
The Pink Pump Affair is a fabulous (sold out!) event that takes place once a year to raise the consciousness of every woman, man and child -  surrounding the need to provide the necessary love, time and attention to children that require a little extra TLC.
That's where the incomparable Areva Martin Esq. steps in - stage left.
Areva Martin Esq. is a remarkable woman, giving her time and attention as an advocate for thousands of families by establishing Special Needs Network, Inc. - the # 1 "Go To" non-profit organization in
South Los Angeles, that clearly speaks on behalf of children with developmental disabilities, such as Autism.
.
Located in the heart of Beverly Hills, the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, was all a glow with women in a lovely array of beautiful outfits - mostly pink outfits, and lovely pink pumps!

The President's VIP Reception was held in an exclusive part of the Montage Beverly Hills, out doors, where the sun kissed our faces as people arrived to sit and chit chat for a bit before the activities began.

The Montage Beverly Hills serves the most delectable chocolate dipped strawberries were served, along with wine and champagne.

Oh, it was a Pink Pump Affair to remember!  Everyone was so happy to be in attendance,
in anticipation of a fabulous High Tea, the silent auction, fashion show and award ceremony.
The Mistress of Ceremony for the fashion show was the lovely  Gabriela Teisser, Anchor for Univision Communications.

But wait, guess what? Toccara Jones, America's Next Top Model, Cycle 3,
took the stage and worked it, modeling one of the beautiful dresses designed by the amazing Fashion Designer, Galina Sobolev!

Toccara is absolutely beautiful!
All of the models did an excellent job!
There was a bidding frenzy over the trip to Costa Rica! Not one, but two people bid for and got the trip(s)! The silent auction and live auction items raised more money, which will directly go to Parents Advocacy Mentor Program (PAM) and the Jo Patton Academy Camp (Camp JPAC) where children with special needs and their siblings, can attend - Yay!

Mr. DIXON, DeOndra's Dad
Way to go, Jamie Foxx's baby sister,  DeOndra Dixon,
Global Down Syndrome Foundation Ambassador, for being the recipient of this year's Woman of Distinction Award!

On a more serious note,
"There are current significant policy issues that threaten the well being of our children." As Areva Martin, Esq. mentioned in the May 20, 2012, 4th Annual Pink Pump Affair magazine.

The Los Angeles Times had an excellent  Four Part Series of articles written on the topic of Autism, published in the Los Angeles Times, 12.11.1. It's a well written series of articles, written by Alan Zarembo,

In part Two of the Four part series, the article entitled, "Warrior Parents Fare Best in Securing Autism Services"- makes it so effervescently clear - crystal clear, that in 2011 there is a significant gap in spending by the state Department of Developmental Services, citing an average of $11,723.00 per child on Whites, $11,063.00 on Asians, $7,634.00 on Latinos and $6,593.00 on Blacks. Isn't that the hurt?
(L to R) Charisse Bremond Weaver, President/CEO,Brotherhood Crusade, Delilah,
Pat Harvey , CBS2, Areva Martin, Esq.
"According to the Center for Disease Control, one of every 88 children is on the autistic spectrum, we on the front lines of autism know that the prevalence of this diagnosis is going to impact our lives -
all of our lives.
"More than ever, we need each and every one of you to make a renewed commitment to ensuring that all kids get the help they need and deserve." ."It revealed a disparity between the funds referenced to help young children with autism, who just happen to have a different skin color. A $5,100.00 gap in support between African-American and White children a a $3,000.00 gap between White and Latino children. Clearly, the work of the Special Needs Network is not done.
It won't be done until this gap is eliminated."- Areva Martin, Esq. Isn't she amazing?
