The P.A.F.F. Film Festival's Opening Night Gala Event was held at the Director's Guild of America, on Sunset Blvd. Mostly everyone was dressed up and looking fabulous. Mayor Villaraigosa, Blair Underwood, Ayuko Babu and Ja'Net Du'Bois were the Presenters.
The featured film was a South African film entitled "Jerusalema", directed by Ralph Ziman. This film was an official selection for the Academy Awards.
The film "follows the path of Lucky Kunene, part Robin Hood and part Horatio Alger."
It was very interesting and really is a prime example of the many complexities surrounding abject poverty and the decisions that are made based on the primal need to survive and provide food clothing and shelter for ones family.
