Listen with headphones.
Is Angie Miller Idols next Kelly Clarkson
From the first night I witnessed Angie Miller sing her own song "You Set Me Free" which has now has an incredible 3.5 million views on You Tube it has been obvious that for the first time in 11 long years American Idol finally has a chance to crown another Pop Rock superstar with the potential to be another Kelly Clarkson. Both possess an exciting voice that pierces and soars whenever necessary but can go soft and then build you back up to the songs climax. Most important though, Angie gives listeners the chills when she sings. Similar to the chills Kelly gives her listeners Angie likewise provides those same chills and this is a trait that only happens when someone special sings. Both Kelly and Angie sang the same Celine Dion song "I Surrender" and both did it incredibly well. Kelly's version of I Surrender (below) was more passionate since Kelly was truly exhausted at the time of her performance and was losing her voice. On the other hand, Angie's version of "I Surrender" (above) was actually much better than Kelly's musically with Angie hitting many more notes and changing it up while keeping to the song's original style. Back in 2002 Kelly in a smart move held her microphone simply in her right hand and likewise Angie Miller has certainly done her homework. Angie holds the microphone in her right hand only while using her left to gesture during each song. Many past idols in comparison have nervously tapped the microphone with their fingers or needlessly changed hands right to left, back and forth, while basically appearing as if they can't figure what to do with the hot potato microphone. But mainly the comparison between Kelly Clarkson and Angie Miller is the fact that for the first time since 2002 when Kelly Clarkson American Idol actually has a chance to crown a future Pop Rock Superstar in Angie Miller. Most important after American Idol 12 is complete I can easily see Angie's fans buying her music and going to see her in concert. Like Kelly, Angie is extremely versatile and can handle any type of music and has a striking, exciting stage presentation. Angie can sing while playing the piano where she has already become somewhat legendary, but Angie can also deliver Rock or Pop standing up with hits like "Bring Me to Life" or "Halo". Watch the Kelly Clarkson and Angie Miller performances of "I Surrender" above and below Both videos show how great Kelly was on Idol 1 and how similarly great Angie is on Idol 12. American Idol needs another Kelly Clarkson, not to replace Kelly but to add something new to the Pop Rock Music scene. That chance is certainly there for the taking by Angie Miller. Regarding age on American Idol both Kelly and Angie share competing on American Idol at a similar time in their life. Kelly was 19 when American Idol auditions began and she turned 20 on April 24 just before American Idol "Search for a Superstar" became a Summer runaway hit on TV. Similar to Kelly Clarkson, Angie Miller is also 19 at the time of her American Idol competition. Another comparison between Kelly and Angie is how they come across on TV. On TV both come across incredibly engaging while looking great and handling the ups and downs of the show with a tremendous ability to stay on course.
Alert, Alert !!! WATCH OUT this week top 4 on American Idol is notoriously treacherous. The American Idol Top 4 has historically has had huge surprises so buckle your seat belt, This American Idol Top 4 may be one for upset music history, just ask favorites Tamyra Gray in Season 1, Latoya London in Season 3 and Chris Daughtry in Season 5, also voting problems, phone number mix ups and extra controversy.
